Drug Testing should be mandatory in this sport with any boxer being called for a test at any time regardless of wether they have a fight coming up or not just like in atheletics. Boxers are seen upon as elite athletes therefore they should endevour to make the sport look just that. A CLEAN elite sport. Anyone who cant deal with testing should go do bodybuilding with the rest of juicers!

I think it's a great idea and fair play to Mundine. I'm all for the testing and always have been!

"I just feel that in the past there have been some fighters who have had some enhancement. I am not going to name names but I feel that they couldn't take the punishment and respond the way they did. I just feel that some guys will go to any lengths to beat me and if that is by taking drugs and enhancing their bodies illegally, then they will do that, because that is how much it means to them.''
hmmmm ... This sounds like Mundine is trying to implicate someone who he fought that has taken punishment in their career only to come out stronger. I don't believe him. I bet Mundine and Nasser talked to a lawyer before making this statement.

I don't believe that either- I can't recall Mundine ever putting an inordinate amount of punishment on anyone and having them responding in any suprising way, although Mundine himself may be the best the judge of this. Mabye he's trying to slide this in as an explanation for his lack of recent knockouts?
More likely, Mundine and Abs (Khoder Nasser) are just looking for a way to keep Mundine in the news and get some good press, Choc's always been a phenomenal natural athlete- (e.g.- heard when was playing for St George that he clocked the beep test (all 21 levels) three times continously) whose always been regarded as 'clean', so this is no skin off his nose as the saying goes. I hope that the idea gains currency among fighters and becomes expected among the global boxing community... |

i think this may play a role in the future of testing,i wonder why it takes a guy like mundine to demand this type of test to gain this type of response,i wonder if mundine has any clout to make such a demand,i for one think that these tests should be allowed to take place under the supervision of highly trained personal that are not ascosiated with any of the participating camps
